But if you are about to buy this game because you think it will capture the graphical fidelity, spirit and feel of Medieval Dynasty, in the harsh wilderness of the Wild West, you will likely be sorely let down by this experience and consider doing some deeper research before jumping in (YouTube streamers etc.). If you have zero expectations from the original (and excellent) Medieval Dynasty, then you shouldn't listen to my rantings. It culminates into a feeling of deep disappointment not just for its current state, but for the future of the game, simply because it would require a complete overhaul to even come close to the game it was piggybacking on. From the clunky, broken UI that doesn't seem to support Ultrawide resolutions, to the 20-30FPS with DLSS enabled on a 3080Ti, rendering some of the worst graphics I have seen in quite a while (photogrammetry mixed with sketching? In UNITY? ). Unfortunately, this game and the instant, jarring, differences between it and our beloved Medieval Dynasty are more than significant. Let's not forget this game was announced on the Medieval Dynasty page, so criticism of this comparison is valid. The dev's clearly just chose its name off of the back of the success of the Medieval Dynasty - which I guess is good business practice. It's an interesting idea and one that my wife and I immediately wishlisted when it was announced on the Medieval Dynasty store page, based on our experience with Medieval Dynasty.īut here's the point that I discovered today: Wild West Dynasty is not even close to the experience or feel of Medieval Dynasty. They've clearly seen the success of Medieval Dynasty and tried to create a vision of that in the Wild West. I don't wish to insult the developers of this game.
